2K and Visual Concepts have officially announced that their new basketball game NBA 2K24 will go on sale on September 8th. The project will also receive crossplay support between PS5 and Xbox Series X/S for the first time in the history of the series. NBA 2K24 is now available for pre-order.
The game is dedicated to the legendary basketball player Kobe Bryant, who died tragically in 2020.
“As we celebrate 25 years of NBA 2K with Kobe Bryant, we commemorate his legacy and the generational impact he has had on the game of basketball,” said Greg Thomas, president at Visual Concepts. “While we mark the history of the franchise, NBA 2K24 also looks ahead to the future to bring an innovative leap in technology and the introduction of community-requested features like crossplay.”
2K Sports’ announcement said NBA 2K24 will feature a mode called Mamba Moments, which will recreate some of Bryant’s most memorable performances.
NBA 2K24 is scheduled for release on September 8, 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Crossplay support will be available only between PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
